Oracle Strengthens Serbia's IT Landscape with the Launch of Its First Regional Center in Kragujevac

Oracle, one of the world's leading IT companies, has made a significant move by opening its first Oracle Cloud regional center in Kragujevac, Serbia. The inauguration took place at the State Data Center, with distinguished guests including the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, and the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, in attendance. The event marked a milestone for Serbia's IT industry and showcased Oracle's commitment to investing in the country's digital transformation.

The newly established regional center aims to facilitate the growth and advancement of Serbia's IT sector. It serves as a testament to Oracle's confidence in the country's potential and its skilled workforce. By choosing Kragujevac as the location for their regional center, Oracle has recognized the city's strategic importance in the heart of Šumadija, positioning it as a key IT hub in Southeast Europe.

The opening ceremony was not only a celebration of Oracle's investment but also an opportunity to strengthen partnerships. A significant highlight was the signing of a commercial agreement between Oracle and Telekom Srbija, Serbia's largest telecommunications company. This collaboration establishes Telekom Srbija as the first user of Oracle Cloud infrastructure in the country, setting the stage for increased innovation and efficiency in their operations.

The presence of Oracle in Serbia has already generated interest from other companies looking to establish similar centers in Kragujevac. The city's potential as an IT hub is set to expand further with plans for the development of an Innovation District, which will include office spaces, a science and technology park, a national cybersecurity center, and a dedicated area for startup companies. These initiatives are expected to create a conducive environment for job creation and attract further investments, solidifying Kragujevac's reputation as a prime destination for tech companies.

Serbia's Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić, expressed her gratitude to Oracle for their trust in Serbia and their belief in the country's future. She emphasized the government's commitment to fostering an innovation-driven ecosystem that encourages the retention of local talent and attracts skilled professionals who have left the country.

Oracle's investment in the regional center not only provides opportunities for the country's ICT sector but also offers advantages for companies across various industries. With the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in place, Serbian businesses can leverage the performance and security benefits offered by Oracle's robust platform. This flexible infrastructure supports the growth and scalability needs of different sectors, including healthcare, retail, and banking.

The launch of Oracle's first regional center in Serbia signifies a crucial milestone in the country's digital transformation journey. It showcases Serbia's position as a forward-thinking nation and a leader in digital innovation. The collaboration between Oracle and Telekom Srbija, combined with the government's strategic initiatives, is set to further accelerate Serbia's digitalization efforts and position the country as a prominent player in the global technology landscape.
